I have to agree with the previous comments made, a standard family holiday is exciting but for the more adventerous family a luxury safari would be ideal as they allow you to have wildlife literally outside your door. You get a feel for the environment and are able to see more on these safaris as you wont be willing on the guides to pick you up all the time for game rides as you will see wildlife on your door.

Of course! Who will patronize products who are expired? But, actually, this post is actually happening at present times. These are people who selfishly think of themselves alone.

The concept of cloud computing is relatively new even in the area of information technology. For the time being, I believe ERP as software as service is still the alternative for supply chain practitioners to minimize implementation cost.

I am quite new to this site and so, am having the chance to look at blogs after a lot of time since the blogs were written.

It's seriously a very valid discussion going on between Varun, Vineet and Ravi. And the point raised by Ravi that Dominos clearly know what they are doing can be very much valid. In this situation with interwoven scenarios, I believe there is another angle to it that the company should look at. No doubt Dominos is the market leader among pizza joints and 'home delivery' has become kind of their high priority. But the reason why I think they should not exercise any sort of levity with their in-store customer orders is that the impression that they would leave on them. If I was Varun's friend who had an unpleasant experience at Dominos, there are good chances I might carry a grudge about Domino's. And that grudge can very well translate into me not ordering from Dominos even for a home delivery service.

Though I don't think such unpleasant experiences would be happening on a very alarming scale for Dominos as of now, but they surely need to fix this right and overhaul their order management. Because as pizza market is increasing day by day, number of people ordering online or through phone are increasing day by day. This is putting more pressure on their order-taking and processing systems. And at the same they would probably have a marginal increase in number of customers walking in to the outlets and having pizzas there. Surely they would not want to disappoint these walk-in customers and leave a bad taste in their minds about the company. Not to forget, these people will also narrate their experience to their friends and peers, just like Varun did :)

My company, DTx Inc.(http://www.dtx.com), has been impacted by the affects of the disaster in Japan that you so accurately predicted in your blog. We provide engineering, manufacturing and supply chain management services to OEMs in a variety of industries. We noticed an almost immediate and significant impact in the area of consumer displays namely NEC, Sharp and Optrex. The Toshiba display plant was also damaged and lead-times are out to 40 weeks. More long term affects are expected. Stepper manufacturer was damaged. 90 day lead-times have increased to 180 days due to component shortages and rolling blackouts. AUO has communicated a concern regarding the component manufacturers and is recommending customers to prepare their inventories for expected supply chain disruptions. We've taken steps to protect our customers in the area of displays as well as memory and hard drives and are monitoring other areas of concern. Our VP of Supply Chain posted a blog on this topic which may interest your readers (http://bitly.com/j2y0qp). It includes current market predictions for customer and COTS circuit card assemblies, memory, hard drives, displays, custom and COTS wire harness assemblies and embedded CPUs.

Hi Kehinde, do you have any suggestions for online supply chain simulations? We are the international affiliates of Apics in the Dominican Republic (www.steamdo.com) and will like to use more simulations in our trainings. Thanks.
